Shometsu Zekkei, December 2025
Meaning “Vanishing Landscape,” Shometsu Zekkei is a video I made with Tenra Katsuno, an exploration of skiing around his home island of Hokkaido, Japan, in January 2025 largely nearby to his hometown of Niseko. Aimed, in part, to reflect the moments of stillness of the delicate landscape - The minutes where new snow is suspended in the arms of arching white birch branches before the sun cures the glimmer of the fresh flakes.
