Cataract Hall

A riverside scene on the Colorado River in Cataract Canyon. I drew a study of the view from a river trip in August and decided to create a carving of the image shortly after. When drawing the design on to the woodblock I tried to reverse the image in my mind without mirroring a digital reference. I was interested to see the ways I distorted certain emphatic features from the scene.
